About us
This website is operated by AfFord Financial Advisory ("we", "us", "our"), an independent financial advisory firm registered in England & Wales. We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Our entry on the FCA Register, including our firm reference number, can be verified at register.fca.org.uk.
Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using this website you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and any other notices posted on the site. If you are using this site on behalf of an entity, you represent that you are authorised to bind that entity to these terms.
Information on this site
The information on this website is provided for general information and educational purposes only. It is intended for users in the United Kingdom and is not directed at any person in any jurisdiction where such distribution would be contrary to local law or regulation.
We make every effort to keep content accurate and up to date, but we make no representations or warranties, express or implied, as to its completeness, accuracy, or timeliness. Any reliance you place on information on this site is strictly at your own risk.
This is not financial advice
Nothing on this website constitutes regulated financial, investment, tax, legal, or pension advice. The contents are not a personal recommendation and should not be relied upon as the basis for any financial decision.
Personal financial advice from us is only ever given following a formal client engagement, the completion of a fact-find, a documented suitability assessment, and the issuance of a written suitability report under FCA rules. Calculators, articles, and educational content on this site are illustrative only.
Investment risk warnings
The following warnings apply across all references to investments, pensions, and financial products on this site:
- The value of investments and any income from them can go down as well as up. You may not get back what you invested.
- Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.
- Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change in the future.
- Pension transfers may not be in your best interests; advice is mandatory for transfers from defined-benefit schemes worth more than £30,000.
- Specific high-risk and complex products are not suitable for most retail investors. We will explain risk fully in any personal recommendation.

Regulatory information
AfFord Financial Advisory is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Our regulatory permissions and the scope of activities we are allowed to perform are set out on the FCA Register.
We are an independent financial advisory firm. This means we provide advice based on a comprehensive and fair analysis of the relevant market and are not tied to any particular product provider.
Our services and fees are described in our Client Agreement, which is provided to every client before any regulated advice is given. The Client Agreement — not this website — is the controlling document for the advisory relationship.
Financial Ombudsman Service & FSCS
Eligible clients may have the right to refer a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) if it cannot be resolved with us directly. The FOS provides an independent dispute resolution service free of charge: financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
We are also covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). Eligible clients may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we are unable to meet our obligations. Investment claims are currently covered up to £85,000 per person per firm. Further information is available at fscs.org.uk.
Complaints
If you wish to make a complaint, please contact us at [email protected]. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and follow the FCA's complaints handling procedures, including providing a final written response within eight weeks.
If you remain dissatisfied, eligible clients may refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service (see Section 14).
Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms from time to time. The version in force is always the one shown on this page. By continuing to use the site after an update, you accept the revised terms.
Governing law & jurisdiction
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England & Wales. The courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute.
